The Team
Paul Need started his life in stage lighting in 1980. Four years later he was accepted by R.A.D.A. - at a time when they only admitted one lighting student a year.
After graduating, Paul worked in repertory theatre before heading to the 1986 Wexford Opera Festival, where he was bitten by the Opera Bug.
In the last 40 years Paul has worked extensively in the world of opera throughout the UK, in Europe and beyond.
Working with companies such as: Scottish Opera, New Sadlers Wells Opera, Mid-Wales Opera, Dorset Opera, Opera Holland Park, European Chamber Opera, Modern Music Theatre Troup, Music Theatre Wales, Travelling Opera, Crystal Clear Opera.
Highlights include the British Premier of "I was looking at the ceiling and saw the sky" (Royal Opera, Lindbury) and Dido & Aeneas (British Council/Syrian Arts Ministry co-production) both directed by Caroline Sharman.
In 2008 he and the soprano Kate Flowers co-founded Co-Opera Co. - a training opera company helping emerging singers, musicians and technicians gain invaluable training and performance experience through workshops, summer courses and 2 fully staged productions each year which toured the UK.
Paul has now extended his repertoire to include lighting concerts and musical theatre productions

To better serve our clients, we acquired Drax Lighting in 2016. This expansion doubled our equipment inventory and allowed us to seamlessly support clients across North/South East London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire from our twin bases. As a tight-knit team, we pride ourselves on delivering the same exceptional care to everyone we work with, from local primary schools to major institutions like the BBC and the Royal Albert Hall.
